FAR 52.219-30Notice of Set-Aside for Women-Owned Small Business

Companion to 52.219-29 — restricts competition to certified Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) concerns in NAICS where SBA has identified WOSB underrepresentation.

When This Clause Applies

Used in WOSB set-asides in industries the SBA has identified as substantially underrepresented by women-owned businesses.

What This Means for Contractors

Only certified WOSBs may compete. WOSB eligibility is broader than EDWOSB (no additional economic disadvantage requirement). SBA certification mandatory since 2020.

Common Pitfalls

  • 1Bidding before completing SBA WOSB certification
  • 2Confusing WOSB (broader) with EDWOSB (subset)
  • 3Misidentifying the NAICS as WOSB-eligible when it is not
