FAR 52.222-54 — Employment Eligibility Verification (E-Verify)
Requires federal contractors with contracts over $150K and 120-day performance to use the E-Verify system to confirm employment eligibility for all new hires AND all employees assigned to the federal contract.
When This Clause Applies
Required in contracts exceeding $150K with performance over 120 days. Excludes commercial item contracts under specific conditions.
What This Means for Contractors
Contractor must enroll in E-Verify within 30 days of contract award, use E-Verify for all new hires within 3 days of hire, and verify employment eligibility for all employees assigned to the federal contract within 30 days of assignment. Subcontracts >$3,500 with services or construction also require E-Verify.
